The Heritage Foundation’s Main Street Festival returns to downtown Downtown franklin tn festivalFranklin, TN April 29-30, 2017!

The free spring celebration, which is one of the largest events in the state of Tennessee, is expected to draw a crowd of about 120,000 for a fun-filled weekend of music, arts and crafts, food, and children’s activities.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County and its division, the Downtown Franklin Association, and their missions, respectively: to protect and preserve the architectural, geographical and cultural heritage of Franklin and Williamson County, and to promote the ongoing economic revitalization of Downtown Franklin in the context of historic preservation.

Main Street Festival activities will run Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 30, 11 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Nashville Lawn & Garden Show – 2017 Dates, Theme

Show times are:  Thursday – Saturday, 10a.m. – 8p.m.; Sunday 10a.m. – 5p.m.

The Nashville Lawn & Garden Show will return to The Fairgrounds Nashville on Thursday, March 2, through Sunday, March 5, 2017. The four-day, indoor Show will celebrate Plant a Forest: Gardening for the Future with garden displays, lectures, vendors, floral designs, and some special features for children.

“With this year’s show, we will showcase the traditional gardens our visitors have come to love, in addition to new ideas in sustainability, gardening for those living in urban areas, and even ways in which our next generation can become involved in gardening, recycling, and preserving the landscape,” said Randall Lantz, co-manager of the Nashville Lawn & Garden Show. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to the 2017 Show.”

The centerpiece of the Nashville Lawn & Garden Show is the walk-through, interactive garden displays from some of Middle Tennessee’s top landscape and gardening companies. An extensive schedule of free lectures from guest experts and the Davidson County Master Gardeners are offered each day on a variety of topics ranging from beekeeping to edible gardens. For shoppers and green thumbs alike, the Marketplace is filled with more than 150 vendors with 250 exhibit booths offering of a variety of plants, seeds, home décor, gardening equipment, books, and free advice for your next gardening project. The region’s top floral designers showcase their talents in the floral design gallery.

Now in its 28th year, the Nashville Lawn & Garden show is Tennessee’s largest and most popular annual gardening event. More than 18,000 people from around the mid-south region visit the Show each year. The family friendly Show is indoors and is fully handicapped accessible. On-site parking is available and shuttles are provided. The Fairgrounds Nashville is located at 500 Wedgewood Avenue, Nashville, TN.

A Walk In The Park

On Sunday, October 30, 2016, the Citizens for Brentwood Green Space will host the second annual “A Walk in the Park”. The non-competitive walk is not a pledge walk, it’s not a race. Rather, it is a fun activity you do with a club, with your family, or all by yourself!  It will be a Halloween treat for your family and you.

The walk is open to any individual, family, or team and is not restricted to just Brentwood or Williamson County residents.  And, if you attended last year’s successful walk, you will find many new activities have been added including a tour of the Ravenswood Mansion, children’s activities, a hayride, and event sponsors will have tables at the event with information and product samples.  A painting of Ravenswood Mansion created especially for the event by local artist Mike Moyers will be featured in a one-day showing and silent auction during the event.

One can start the walk or festivities anytime after 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

All proceeds minus the cost of the event will go towards amenities and improvements at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park.  The walk will bring our community together while supporting a terrific cause!

Main Street Festival – Downtown Franklin, TN

One of the most anticipated–and popular–events of the year in Williamson County! The two-day weekend event will feature more than 200 artisans & crafters, dynamic live entertainment for all ages, a dedicated kids’ areas and an international food court.

What to Expect

The event is expected to attract some 125,000 visitors to a full slate of family-oriented activities, non-stop musical entertainment and international flavors of more than 20 food vendors.

The centerpiece of Main Street Festival is a juried arts and crafts show featuring some 200 vendors with original and hand crafted wares. Oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, jewelry, furniture, woodworking, ornamental iron, stained glass, photography, home and garden accents, birdhouses, leatherwork, and much more will be showcased on Main Street from First to Fifth Avenues.

In addition to a juried arts and crafts show, the festival offers a special area of children’s activities on Third Avenue South between City Hall and the Old Courthouse.
