Friends of the Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Williamson County Public Library will be holding our next book sale on March 5-7. We will have literally thousands of new and used donated books for sale including paperbacks, hardcovers, fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, antique books, coffee-table books, and various media items such as audio books, CD’s, and DVD’s. All books will be neatly sorted by subject and arranged by category. Prices range from 50-cents to $5.00 each, and there are no buyer restrictions. We accept cash, check, Visa & MasterCard.

Book Sale days & hours are as follows:

  • Saturday, March 5th – Member’s Jump-Start Sale: 9-10:00 a.m.*
  • Saturday, March 5th – General Public: 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 6th– General Public: 1-5 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 6th – Member’s Only/$5 Bag Sale: 3:30-5 p.m. **
  • Monday, March 7th – General Public/$5 Bag Sale: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.***

*The Member’s Jump-Start Sale begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. It’s a no limit shopping spree, and members will not have to check-out by 10:00 a.m. Members can continue shopping as the general public enters.

If you would like to become a Friends member and take part in the Member’s Jump-Start Sale, you can join at the door before or anytime during the book sale. Be one of the first booklovers to shop all our great books! As always, book dealers are also welcome.

**A Member’s Only $5 Bag Sale will begin on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. until close at 5 p.m.

***On Monday, we will have a $5 Bag Sale all day for the general public. Bags will be provided, and you can fill as many bags as you like for only $5 each.

All the proceeds from this sale, along with your generous donations, will go to fund The Friends of the Library which is dedicated to help support the Williamson County Public Library.

The Polar Express Reading & Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Brentwood Library Annual Tree Lighting will be on Monday, December 7th at 5:30pm. At 5pm and 6pm, there will be readings of The Polar Express in the Periodical Room and everyone attending the Polar Express Reading must have a ticket. The event is free, but tickets for the Polar Express Readings are available on a first come-first serve basis at the Children’s Service Desk beginning on Monday, November 23rd during regular library hours. Morning with Santa and Magic Show

The Brentwood Library is proud to present the 16th annual Morning with Santa on Saturday, December 5th. Magician Scott Humston will be on hand again this year to amaze and delight us with his fascinating magic and hilarious showmanship. Everyone attending the magic show must have a ticket. The magic show will be offered at three times: 9:30,10:30 and 11:30. There will also be balloons, refreshments, face painting, music, giveaways and of course, Santa Claus. The event is free, but tickets for the magic show are available on first come-first serve basis at the Children’s Service Desk beginning Monday, November 23rd during regular library hours. Get in the holiday spirit at Brentwood Library

The Brentwood Library has a lineup of holiday-related happenings over the next few weeks.

Here are some of those events:

Morning with Santa and Magic Show – Saturday, Dec. 5. Doors open at 9 a.m. Free event. Tickets required. Bring the whole family to meet Santa, play a variety of games, and enjoy a magic show by Scott Humston at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m. Call Pat Ladnier or Missy Dillingham at 615-371-0090 to reserve a spot.

The Polar Express Reading & Tree Lighting Ceremony – Monday, Dec. 7, 5:30-7 p.m. Free event. Tickets are required for readings but not the lighting ceremony. Polar Express readings will be 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. The Dedication and Lighting of the Tree will be held at 6 p.m. Also, enjoy holiday treats, warm cider, and special music performed by Ravenwood High School. To reserve a spot, call Pat Ladnier or Missy Dillingham at 615-371-0090. The Library tree has two new figure additions – Cat in the Hat and a Nutcracker.
