Nissan returns as title sponsor of the signature polo match and classic car show at Riverview Farm

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Nissan’s Chukkers for Charity returns on Saturday, Sept. 8 for the 22nd annual polo match and car show held in Franklin, Tenn. This year’s theme, “Diamonds and Divots,” will celebrate an afternoon of polo featuring all female polo players for the first time. Chukkers for Charity raises funds for Rochelle Center and Saddle Up! and has raised $2.1 million over the last 21 years.

“We are thrilled to participate in another year of Chukkers for Charity,” said Debbie Chadwick, president of Rochelle Center. “This wonderful outdoor event directly supports the work of our programs and the programs at Saddle Up!, and it’s an honor to receive funds from this fun, community wide event.”

Chukkers for Charity is the largest polo event in Middle Tennessee and features a vintage car show parade during half time, a silent auction and cabana decorating competition. Guests are encouraged to participate in celebrating the theme through the décor of their individual cabana tailgating headquarters. For the first time ever, Chukkers for Charity will feature a hat contest as well as best dressed in their favorite party attire for the event.

Executive Director of Saddle Up! Laurie Kush added, “For 22 years, Saddle Up! has been honored to be part of one of Middle Tennessee’s favorite fundraising events, Chukkers for Charity. Proceeds from the event support our programs that serve children and youth with disabilities through adaptive equine therapy.”

Co-chairs for the 2018 event are Matt Paco and Nina Lindley. The gates for the event will open at 1 p.m. for tailgaters and 2 p.m. for patrons. The opening ceremony will be held at 2:45 p.m. with the polo match beginning around 3 p.m. Following the polo match, dinner will begin in the Patrons Tent at 5:15 p.m.

Fieldside Patron Tables are available for $2,500 per table of 10. Standard Patron Tables are available for $1,750 per table of 10 or $175 per individual ticket. Tailgating cabanas are available for $300, which includes six wristbands and a cabana, two additional wristbands per cabana available for $50 each. Always held the 4th weekend in July, Bluegrass Along the Harpeth was started in 1991 and has had several homes in Franklin, TN over the years. Most recently it has made it’s home on the town square.  The historic backdrop is the perfect place for our weekend of music in honor of Franklin’s own Grand Ole Opry stars Sam and Kirk McGee. This festival is put on and operated by old time musicians and dancers. It’s their love for the music and its preservation that make this festival special and a not-to-be-missed event every year.

Harpeth River Ride

A fun weekend of cycling at the annual Harpeth River Ride starting Friday June 2nd – Saturday June 3th in Franklin, Tennessee. Hosted by the Harpeth Bicycle Club and presenting sponsor Mars Petcare, the Harpeth River Ride offers an epic cycling experience for bicyclists of all skill levels. Choose from four routes – 15, 44, 66 and 100 miles – traveling throughout the scenic, rural landscape of Middle TN. All routes are fully supported by well-stocked rest stops, clearly marked directions and top-notch SAG. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch and share ride stories with your friends. There’s a reason cyclists return to the Harpeth River Ride year-after-year, it’s an event not to be missed! 

The Harpeth Bicycle Club (HBC) exists to promote cycling in the greater Nashville area. Formed in 1997, the club has over 1000 members ranging from casual cyclist to ultra rider. Scheduled rides are offered 2-5 days per week depending on the weather. New riders are welcomed to join some of the best cyclists in Middle Tennessee who are willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport. A variety of training clinics are offered to develop cycling performance and safety skills.

The Celebration is dedicated to the enjoyment of the best craft beers around. Guests will have the opportunity to sample 30+ craft beers, with many of these brews coming from the best Southern craft and micro-breweries around. This rain or shine event will take place outdoors, under a tent, at the lake on Front Street, in Westhaven Town Center.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door until sell-out. Tickets include a five ounce souvenir glass, a brewer’s list card and free music beginning at 6 pm with The World Turning, a fantastic Fleetwood Mac tribute band. The concert is free to the public, so you can attend without a ticket to the event. Craft beers and growlers will be available for purchase beginning at 7:00 pm. Designated Driver tickets are also available for $5. All proceeds raised from the event will benefit The Westhaven Foundation’s Excellence in Education efforts.

Tickets for the Granite City VIP area include entry to an exclusive lounge with private taps and limited food from 5 – 7 pm, and your very own porta-potti, 2 beer coupons for after 7 pm and the area will be open until the end of the concert. What a deal!

Food truck vendors will be on-site and Bellaterra fine cigars will be available for purchase. Attendees at the event must be 21-years of age or older, and no children, strollers or pets will be allowed in the Beer Garden.
