SUMMARY:Pinkerton Park Storybook Trail
DESCRIPTION:There is a new way to read a story in the Park – Pinkerton Park Storybook Trail Opens Friday\, March 2\, 2018 \nFranklin\, TN – The City of Franklin Parks department is partnering with Friends of Franklin Parks and the Williamson County Library to create a new opportunity for children and families at Pinkerton Park.  On Friday\, March 2 at 3:30 officials will cut the ribbon on the new Storybook Trail\, an interactive walk and read experience along the trail at Pinkerton Park. \nFranklin Parks Facilities Superintendent Kevin Lindsey says\, “There will be 20 different spots along the trail for children and parents to stop and read a story about forest animals as they walk along the trail.” \nExecutive Director of Friends of Franklin Parks\, Torrey Barnhill says\, “We saw a similar experience when we were at a parks conference last year and knew we needed to bring the storybook trail to the children of Franklin.  We are so excited to cut the ribbon and let families enjoy this new interactive attraction at Pinkerton Park.” \nThe ribbon cutting will begin at 3:30\, families and children are invited to attend.  Mayor Ken Moore will be on hand to read the story and refreshments will be served and a few furry friends from the story may be on hand! \nThe exhibit will be ongoing throughout the year and the goal is to change the story annually.  Parents can also purchase the book with proceeds benefitting Friends of Franklin Parks.  Contact Torrey Barnhill at tbarnhill@friendsoffranklinparks.org. \n  \n
