DESCRIPTION: \nFRANKLIN – Have a prom dress or two taking up space in a closet? \nLove the Dress TN! is looking for donations of gowns to provide an inexpensive option for girls who cannot afford the high cost of formal wear for this year’s prom or other social event. \nParticipants can either donate a gown and receive another free\, or they can purchase one for $20 or a short formal dress for $10. Proceeds will go to GraceWorks. \nSince 2011\, the event has drawn more than 1\,800 participants. In addition to dresses donated by buyers\, gowns are contributed by area high schools\, local department stores\, bridal shops and individuals. The event also includes door prizes\, make-up sessions and how-to formal hairstyle presentations. \nDonations of dresses\, shoes and accessories are being accepted at GraceWorks\, 104 Southeast Parkway; Westhaven Golf Club\, 4000 Golf Club Lane; and Riley’s\, 919 Columbia Ave. \nThis year’s event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 12 at Church of the City\, 828 Murfreesboro Road.
