DESCRIPTION:Art Shows Franklin\, TN\n  \nThe Friends of Radnor Lake and The Chestnut Group\, a Nashville-based nonprofit organization of plein air painters\, will host the popular biannual fundraising art show\, Love the Lake\, Love the Land. A major portion of the sale proceeds of this artwork will benefit the Radnor Lake State Natural Area. \nChestnut Group plein air painters are a group of artists who partner with other nonprofit organizations to raise funds to protect our vanishing landscapes. “Plein air” is a French expression for painting outside in the open. Chestnut members have been painting the seasons at Radnor Lake in preparation for the show. The show will feature Radnor Lake scenes\, the abundant wildlife including birds of prey found in the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center and scenes from existing and newly acquired property within the Natural Area. Event chairs hope to surpass that total in 2017\, which will go a long way in supporting programs specifically designed to ensure that more patients become survivors. Every dollar counts to the more than 224\,000 people diagnosed in the U.S with lung cancer each year. In Tennessee alone\, an estimated 5\,830 residents will be diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017. \nThis year’s event will feature a 5K and 1-Mile Walk.
