(October 24\, 2019) — Grace Christian Academy Fine Arts presents Seussical Jr.\, running November 1-2\, 2019 at the GCA Gymnasium (Entrance 3) in Leiper’s Fork. \nFrom the Jungle of Nool to Kalamazoo\, Horton the Elephant\, the Cat in the Hat\, and all of your most memorable Dr. Seuss characters spring to life on stage in Seussical Jr. with three public performances: Friday\, November 1 at 5:00PM and Saturday\, November 2 at 2:00PM and 6:00PM. Tickets are on sale now for $7 at gcalions.com/ticketsales/\, and advanced reservations are recommended. \nThis fantastical\, magical extravaganza combines a musical conglomeration of styles ranging from Latin to pop\, swing to gospel\, and R&B to funk\, as colorful as the classic books! Let your fingers snap and your toes tap as you are transported to a world of cheerful chaos and nostalgia. \nA tale of friendship\, loyalty\, family\, and community\, this cherished musical performance for all ages boasts a multi-talented and active cast of 45 students on stage with 25 students on crew. With choreography by Ashley Henderson and music direction by Daniel Houston\, almost every scene is a song and dance. The cast and crew are led by a team of theater professionals including Director\, Carrie Estes\, Stage Manager\, Katie Del Rocco\, and Production Designer\, Madison Paulette. \nIn celebration of this Middle School production\, GCA is hosting an Arts and Athletics family night on Friday\, November 1. The evening begins with the opening of Seussical Jr. at 5:00PM in the gym. After the show\, the Fine Arts Department will host a Chili Supper for only $4 per bowl at the GCA concession stands before the Lions High School Football Senior Night kicks off at 7:00PM. Tickets to the football game are $7.
