Enjoy hot cider\, cookies\, and a drive-through tour of Franklin’s beautiful town square. Plus\, go on a trip to one of the most decorated neighborhoods featuring millions of lights on display! \nGray Line of Tennessee is proud to partner with the Lotz House and present the ninth annual\, “Twinkling Tennessee Christmas\,” one of Nashville’s most festive holiday traditions. \nIn addition to touring some of Nashville and Franklin’s most beautiful and exquisitely-decorated holiday home exteriors\, guests will also walk through the historic Lotz House in Franklin\, which is decorated to depict a typical Victorian Christmas in the mid-1800s\, and drive through Franklin’s beautiful town square. \nThe tour has grown in popularity each year as more groups\, organizations and neighborhoods take advantage of the special event. Each tour takes approximately 2 ½ hours and is in a 25 passenger mini-coach. \nTours will run Dec. 1-30\, with the exception of Dec. 24 and 25\, and will depart daily at 6:30 p.m. Gray Line will provide a pickup at most Nashville hotels\, or guests can park at the Gray Line office across from Opryland to board the tour. The office address is 2416 Music Valley Drive\, Ste. 102\, Nashville\, TN 37214. Hotel guests participating in the tour should be in their hotel lobby by 6 p.m. for departure between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. \n  \n

Step back in time with the Heritage Foundation of Franklin & Williamson County when Dickens of a Christmas returns to Franklin’s Main Street December 10-11\, 2016. \nSponsored this year by Nissan\, the 32nd annual free street festival will recreate the time of Charles Dickens using historic downtown Franklin’s Victorian architecture as the backdrop. Some 200 musicians\, dancers and characters will fill the streets\, including several from Charles Dickens’s stories. Expect to see and interact with the nefarious Fagin from Oliver Twist; Jacob Marley\, Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim Cratchit with his parents from A Christmas Carol; and of course\, a Victorian Father and Mother Christmas with treats for children. \nAs more attention is turned toward downtown Franklin in both the local and national press\, we encourage festival goers to dress in Victorian costume and to add to the ambiance as they stroll the streets. \nThis year’s event will reprise a crowd favorite from last year: it WILL snow at Dickens of a Christmas! Come decked out in holiday style to capture that perfect family picture. \nProducing Dickens of a Christmas is just one of the many activities of The Heritage Foundation of Franklin & Williamson County. Since 1967 the non-profit group has been dedicated to protecting and preserving Williamson County’s historic\, architectural and geographic resources; in short\, saving the places that matter. \n
