SUMMARY:JEAPS - Paintball Trip
DESCRIPTION:Williamson County Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce a September 17 JEAPS (Junior Excursion Adventure Programs) paintball trip for adventurous 11 to 15 year olds. Join the fun on Saturday\, September 17\, 2016 for a fun-filled day of paintball! This trip is for kids ages 11 to 15\, and will meet at the Franklin Recreation Complex\, 1120 Hillsboro Road at 8:30 a.m. and return at 4:00 p.m. Each participant should wear old clothes and bring a sack lunch\, snacks and water. The basic trip ($40) includes transportation and paintball equipment with 200 paintballs. SUMMARY:Franklin 4 the Cure - Concert 4 the Cure
DESCRIPTION:Franklin 4 the Cure is a two-day fundraising event that will take place on September 16th and 17th in the Westhaven community\, located three miles west of downtown Franklin.\n  \nThe event will kick off on Friday\, September 16th with the Colorful Run 4 the Cure (may change name) at 6:30pm. This 5K will wind through the beautiful landscaped streets and paved trails located in the Westhaven community. There will be several color stations along the route to get participants pumped up and even more colorful! The run will conclude with a party at the finish line that will include a DJ\, color cannons\, giveaways\, sponsor booths\, and tons of fun!! \nThe Concert 4 the Cure\, featuring Kellie Pickler\, will take place on Saturday\, September 17th starting at 6:00 PM on the Great Lawn at the Westhaven Residents Club\, located at 401 Cheltenham Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Get there early to get good seats!! Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. Beverages and food will be available for purchase. A limited number of VIP Experience tickets are available for $100 per person and include hors d’oeuvres and beverages with a premium view of the concert from the balcony. \nProceeds from both the Colorful Run 4 the Cure and the Concert 4 the Cure will fund discovery grants at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Discovery grants provide seed funding for cancer researchers to pursue bold ideas in the lab that can lead to breakthrough discoveries in the fight against cancer.
