Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
Cheekwood is hosting a viewing party for the solar eclipse set to sweep the nation on Monday, August 21. The rare natural phenomenon is the first total solar eclipse to hit the U.S. in 99 years, with Nashville serving as the largest U.S. city in its path. Typically closed to the public on Mondays, Cheekwood will open its doors with half-priced admission from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., which will feature live music, food trucks, cash bars and protective eyewear for the viewing. The 2017 Great Americana BBQ Festival looks to grow the inaugural event to 100 competition barbecue teams. A car show will be added to the lineup this year in addition to bourbon, craft beer, and barbecue tastings. Craft vendors will be on hand and live music will keep people entertained all day.
