Trucks, equipment, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will gather at Jim Warren Park where children of all ages, with parent supervision, will be welcome to touch, climb-on, and explore these amazing pieces of equipment.  Music, inflatables and fun will also be available at this free family event.  Food will also be available for purchase.

Fire trucks, police cars, tractors, back hoes, tow trucks, and more! Don’t miss out of this great event.

There will be over 100 vendors and artisans with hand made art, jewelry, wood crafts, soaps, candles, and more! Also a variety of food trucks. This concert-style variety show stars company members and special guests putting a Studio Tenn spin on all your favorite songs of the season. From traditional carols to the glory days of big band, we’ll be serving up slices of holiday nostalgia from every era. It’s the perfect holiday outing for friends, families or co-workers, a great gift for anyone on your “Nice” list, or simply a chance to soak up some musical merriment during the most wonderful time of the year.

We have some great performances lined up this summer so pack a picnic, gather friends and family, and head on over to Owl’s Hill for an evening of fun, friends and music. Arrive early to stake out the perfect picnic spot, meet Owl’s Hill’s non-releasable live owls and go for a hike! Gates open at 5:30 pm for picnics, hikes and meeting the owls; Music starts at 7:00 pm

June 18 – Jerre Haskew

Jerre Haskew was a founding member of the legendary folk group The Cumberland Trio during the Folk Era of the early 1960’s. The Cumberland Trio recorded in 1964 with Chet Atkins at RCA Nashville’s famed Studio B and in New York City at the renowned Gotham Studios.  In 2000 he reunited The Cumberland trio for two successful reunion concerts at the historic Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, TN which were recorded and released on CD, as well as remastering to CD and releasing the Trio’s 1964 RCA Nashville and NY City recordings. From 2007-2015 he worked on a Haskew family music project that culminated in the release of Songs From the Fiery Gizzard- The Music of the Haskew Family. The album features 23 songs written by Jerre and his wife Barbara over a fifty year period and sung by them, their daughter Holly and their granddaughter Sarah. The album was recently named 2015 National Folk CD of the Year by the Rural Roots Music Commission. Jerre continues to perform his own original songs and selective audience favorites throughout East & Middle TN, Northwest GA & at folk festivals around the nation.

Musical Theater in the Meadow is back, offered by a gathering of Nashville’s finest theatrical performers and supported by a fantastic band.  This year’s performance is still being finalized.  Check back soon for more details!

September 24 – Jazz in the Meadow with Christina Watson

Christina Watson is a versatile vocalist and vocal coach based in Nashville, Tennessee. She is highly-trained and performs all genres, but she has always been enamored by America’s only true art form: jazz. She brings her quartet of world-class musicians to events in Nashville and beyond.  She performs jazz and other genres at public and private events, in concert halls, churches, clubs and at festivals. Christina sings lead and background vocals for sessions. She is the soprano in 4-person vocal jazz group, 3rd Coast Vocals, and is a frequent guest performer with the Nashville Jazz Orchestra and the NJO Sextet. Christina has released 3 CDs as a solo artist and 1 with 3CV, and she was featured on the NJO’s 2013 recording, “It Ain’t Necessarily So.” She has performed in Europe and Asia as well as in various parts of the US.

Franklin 4 the Cure – Concert 4 the Cure

Franklin 4 The Cure Franklin TN EventFranklin 4 the Cure is a two-day fundraising event that will take place on September 16th and 17th in the Westhaven community, located three miles west of downtown Franklin.

 

The event will kick off on Friday, September 16th with the Colorful Run 4 the Cure (may change name) at 6:30pm. This 5K will wind through the beautiful landscaped streets and paved trails located in the Westhaven community. There will be several color stations along the route to get participants pumped up and even more colorful! The run will conclude with a party at the finish line that will include a DJ, color cannons, giveaways, sponsor booths, and tons of fun!!

The Concert 4 the Cure, featuring Kellie Pickler, will take place on Saturday, September 17th starting at 6:00 PM on the Great Lawn at the Westhaven Residents Club, located at 401 Cheltenham Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Get there early to get good seats!! Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. Beverages and food will be available for purchase. A limited number of VIP Experience tickets are available for $100 per person and include hors d’oeuvres and beverages with a premium view of the concert from the balcony.

Proceeds from both the Colorful Run 4 the Cure and the Concert 4 the Cure will fund discovery grants at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Discovery grants provide seed funding for cancer researchers to pursue bold ideas in the lab that can lead to breakthrough discoveries in the fight against cancer. Findings from preliminary research supported by these grants are essential to obtain funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and other federal agencies that grant millions every year to support cancer research.

Free Outdoor Band Concert in Franklin, TN – Family Event

Movie music will be featured!

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a free outdoor band concert by the Williamson County Community Band on Sunday, September 11 at 5:00 p.m. on the lawn behind the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd. (weather permitting). The program will feature famous movie music, so you are sure to recognize your favorites! There is no charge for this family event.

Bring along lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Picnics and coolers are welcome, but no pets or alcoholic beverages are permitted.
