About CASA

Our Mission – Advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

Our Vision – Every child in a safe and permanent home.

Thousands of children are abused or neglected every day in the United States. They are the victims of people who are unable or refuse to accept the responsibilities of raising a child. And through no fault of their own, these children are cast into a complex, chaotic and uncertain environment of courtrooms and foster care. They are alone and often times they are scared.

Williamson County CASA helps children in this situation every day. Speaking on their behalf in courtrooms, identifying safe homes for them to live in and listening to their stories. And while we consider this our mission as a non-profit organization, we are dependent upon people like you for monetary and volunteer support. Helping the helpless is a responsibility we all share. How will you get involved?

Historic Franklin gets a crafty new addition!
Move over wine and paint night, there’s a new craft in town. Franklin’s Craft Love opened its doors on March 17th and is taking a whack at the DIY art industry. In their unique creative workshop, craft experts lead classes to make custom wood home décor and so much more.
Craft Love puts a new twist on a night out with friends, private parties, special occasions or corporate events by letting people explore their creative side and take home a personalized piece of art or home décor. They provide everything you need for your project: the wood, paint, stain, stencil and you even get to use a hammer and power drill!
Classes for the month of April are available for individuals or groups looking to book online. In addition, Craft Love is BYOB, making it perfect for private event rentals, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, or team building events.
Craft Love is also the perfect place to get crafty for charity through their “Spread the LOVE” program. Craft Love works with groups looking to hold private fundraising events and they donate 25% of the group project cost back to the group’s charity.
A night out in Franklin just got craftier! Check out their gallery page for photos of past projects and classes and browse their workshop calendar to reserve your seat in an upcoming class. Keep an eye open for their next location in East Nashville.

A Victorian Valentine’s Day in Carrie’s Attic

Children will enjoy making old fashioned Valentine cards to send to their loved ones and decorating a special box to keep their very own valentines in.  We will look at authentic Valentines sent from soldiers and from their loved ones back home.  This was an important time for soldiers because many of them had wives and children back home that they missed very much.  Many soldiers had a sweetheart that they thought about daily and could not wait to see again.  Soldiers would send a Valentine home to them in hopes that they would also receive one in return.  Children, spouses, and sweethearts could not wait to show how much their soldier is truly missed.
