Join us June 4, 2016, for the 28th Annual Music Country Grand Prix at Brownland Farm in Franklin, Tennessee. Benefitting Saddle Up!, the Music Country Grand Prix is a premier equestrian jumping competition featuring top riders and horses from across the nation.

Kids Art Festival of Franklin TN

Presented by the City of Franklin Parks and The Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission.

We Invite you to participate in the 2nd Annual Kids Arts Festival of Tennessee

Fine Arts Exhibit

We welcome all Tennessee Kindergarten through 12th Grade Artists to apply to display your original pieces in this juried exhibit. We will accept and include a wide variety of art pieces in multi-media platforms.

Winning pieces will be displayed at the Fire Hall Art Gallery in City Hall in Downtown Franklin throughout the summer months.

Youth art vendors sell their hand-crafted art.
Unique pieces are available for festival patrons to purchase.

Do you create art that would appeal to others? Sell your hand-crafted art to festival attendees. We are expecting over 5000 people this year who will all get the chance to purchase your items.

Stage Performers

Do you dance, act, sing, play and instrument, or write poetry? We are looking for talented groups and individuals to perform on the stage at the Kids Arts Festival of Tennessee.  Whether you are a seasoned performer or just starting out, we would like to highlight the variety of talent in Tennessee.

Art Installation

This year’s installation will be a glass tile mosaic created by 1000 attendees of the event.

Music City Sports Festival – Nashville

The Music City Sports Festival – June 4th 8am-4pm and June 5th 12pm-4pm – Nashville, TN

The Music City Sports Festival is the premier annual sports event that allows you to get up close and personal with unique access, in-depth insights and one-of-a-kind personal experiences with local, regional and national sports programs and personalities. The Festival is designed to provide the Total Sport Experience.

The clinics will be open to anyone between the ages of 5-18. Any participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian able to sign a Release and Waiver.

Hillbilly Half Marathon

2016 Hillbilly Half Marathon – June 4, 2016. Participate in a half marathon or 5K run through Leipers Fork.

The Hillbilly Half Marathon is nestled in the pristine back-country of Williamson County, minutes outside of Downtown Franklin. All roads that lead up to the start line are two lane country roads. We recommend you carpool and show up as early as possible so you do not miss the starting gun.

Lawnchair Theater

Beginning in June and running through August, these free family oriented movies are presented by Jailhouse Industrys at the Lawnchair Theater every Friday of each month.  Located downtown in scenic Leipers Fork, the outdoor theater is a perfect climate for family events. Take a group of neurotic, over-achieving grade schoolers with a dictionary in their hands and hope in their hearts, add a group of equally wacky moderators and stir for a delightful and sharply funny comedy that will have you rolling in the aisles. Make-A-Thon: A Festival of Creativity

The Williamson County Public Library presents Make-A-Thon: A Festival of Creativity.

The Williamson County Public Library will be hosting its fourth annual Make-A-Thon: A Festival of Creativity from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. We are partnering with businesses and artisans local to Williamson County to show you what is available in your own backyard. Exhibitors include the Tennessee Ghostbusters, 501st MidSouth Garrison (Star Wars characters), Williamson County Master Gardeners, and many more. There’s something for everyone!

The festival will consist of live demonstrations, and hands on activities that will range from using robots to beekeeping. There will be crafts, including Lego construction and take home art projects for patrons of all ages. You can even adopt an adorable pet from the Williamson County Animal Center’s mobile unit.

Triathlon for Young Athletes

Williamson County Parks and Recreation Triathlon for Young Athletes – Franklin Recreation Complex, Franklin, TN

Calling all aspiring triathletes, ages 8 to 12! You can swim, bike and run your way to the finish at the fifth annual Half-Pint Triathlon on Saturday, May 21 at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Register now for this fun family event presented by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department. All registration is by mail, and forms and event rules are available at the Franklin Recreation Complex; the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr.; the Indoor Sports Complex at 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood; the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd.; and the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd. or on line at www.wcparksandrec.com under Programs/Half Pint Triathlon. Only the first 100 entrants will be accepted. The entry fee is $20 per child, payable with registration forms.

Athletes will be divided into two age groups: Juniors, ages 8-9, and Seniors, ages 10-12 (age as of 5/31/16). Juniors will swim 50 meters in the pool, bike 1.5 miles and run 0.5 miles. Senior entrants will swim 100 meters, bike three miles and run one mile. Each child will receive an official triathlon medal and t-shirt. Children must be accompanied by parents, and all racers are required to wear appropriate swim wear in the pool and shoes while biking and running. Each child should bring a bicycle and a helmet to the event. Packet pick-up is Friday, May 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex. Race check-in begins Saturday, May 21 at 6:00 a.m. with a transition area meeting at 7:00 a.m. for racers and parents, followed by a race time of 7:30 a.m. Parents, bring your cameras for award-winning photo opportunities!

The Half-Pint Triathlon is sponsored by Race Day Events, Cigna, Smoothie King, Sport Seasons, Whole Foods, Nashville Striders and ASAP Awards.
