In the last dozen years, no traditional Irish band has had a wider impact on audiences and music lovers throughout the world than Altan. They have moved audiences from Donegal to Tokyo to Seattle with their heartwarming, dynamic live performances and with their exquisitely produced, award-winning recordings that range from the most touching old Irish songs to hard-hitting reels and jigs
Throughout their career, Altan has shown unwavering commitment to bringing the beauty of traditional music to contemporary audiences, particularly that of the Donegal fiddlers and singers. On their new album, The Widening Gyre (2015 Compass Record), Altan explores and celebrates the musical connection between the traditional music of Ireland and the roots and bluegrass music from their across the pond cousin.

An Acoustic Evening With Los Lonely Boys – The Franklin Theatre – Events in historic downtown Franklin.
“We decided to call this album Revelation because we want to make music that reveals something to people about their lives and their world,” says Jojo Garza. He’s talking about the new release by Los Lonely Boys, the close-knit Texas trio that the bassist/vocalist shares with his brothers Henry (vocals, guitar) and Ringo (drums, vocals). “As musicians and artists, we’re here to connect with people, and to share our view of things.”
Revelation – to be released on the band’s own LonelyTone imprint Jan. 21, 2014, in association with the respected Austin-based indie Playing in Traffic – is a landmark release for the siblings. While maintaining the infectiously melodic mix of bluesy rock ’n’ roll and rootsy brown-eyed soul that’s long endeared Los Lonely Boys to its fiercely loyal fan base, Revelation adds an expansive range of new sonic elements, e.g. the conjunto touches of “Blame It On Love,” the reggae groove of “Give A Little More,” the rustic acoustic textures of “It’s Just My Heart Talkin’ and the baroque pop elements of “There’s Always Tomorrow.”

The Franklin Theatre – John Waite – Wooden Heart Tour Acoustic – Downtown Franklin, TN
Countless musicians of far lesser accomplishment have probably made similar statements regarding their own personal creative process, but when the confession comes from John Waite – whose been successfully writing, recording and performing some of the most listenable, enduring and appreciated popular music for more than 35 years – one cannot help but both recognize and marvel at the shimmering legacy of this British born rock star.

The Franklin Theatre – An Evening with Billy Dean – Wednesday, June 8th, 2016
There was a time in Billy Dean’s life when it looked like basketball was his future, not a stage. The 6’4″ singer from Florida received a basketball scholarship to attend East Central Junior College in Decatur, Miss., where he majored in physical education. But music was always courtside.
After he made the finals of the Wrangler Country Star Search in 1982 and then became a male vocalist champ on Ed McMahon’s Star Search in 1988, Billy earned a Top 5 hit in 1990 with his debut country single, “Only Here For A Little While.” His second single, “Somewhere In My Broken Heart,” also went Top 5, as did follow-up singles “You Don’t Count The Cost,” “Only The Wind” and “Billy The Kid.”
