THE FRIENDS OF FRANKLIN PARKS HOST THE BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS
Downtown Festivities Begin at 10:00 a.m., Park opens at 5:30, Fireworks to begin about 9pm
Franklin— Thousands are expected to attend the popular Franklin on the Fourth celebration on the square happening Wednesday, July 4th in Franklin and sponsored by the Franklin Lions Club. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. with music, food and craft vendors, antique cars, a kid’s zone and much more. The event will also feature a Children’s Patriotic Parade at 5:00 p.m, line-up for the parade begins at 4:45, to register go to the Lions Club Booth on the square at the event. There will be prizes for best costume and decorated bikes and wagons. Pets are welcome.
The Park at Harlinsdale is the prime spot for viewing the fireworks show. The show is sponsored by WAKM, and the City of Franklin. Friends of Franklin Parks is hosting the community in the Tractor Supply Co.Arena featuring two bands, concessions for purchase, beer tents, and a kid’s area featuring old fashioned kids games and crafts. The two bands are People on the Porch at 6:00 p.m. followed by Rubiks Groove at about 7:00 p.m. Sponsors working with Friends of Franklin Parks to bring a free and fun family event include Sonic, and Berry Farms. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to view the show. The fireworks are expected to begin at approximately 9:00 p.m.
No alcohol is allowed to be brought into City Parks, as mentioned previously concessions will be available. Fireworks and sparklers are illegal within Franklin City limits and are strictly prohibited in City Parks. The grass is dry in the park and sparks or flames could easily start a fire.
NASHVILLE, TENN. (JUNE 29, 2018) Redjett Management announces a special evening of songs and stories that will benefit Musicians On Call on August 02, 2018 at the historic Franklin Theatre. Redjett’s family of artists – Lauren Daigle, Sadie Robertson, Chris McClarney, Cody Carnes and Hollyn – will lend their time and talent to showcase the healing power of music. “VOICES: AN EVENING OF HUMOR AND SONG” will be hosted by author and speaker Annie F. Downs and include unique collaborations, individual performances and plenty of laughs creating a one-of-a-kind event.
“When I ventured away from corporate America, I wanted my business to consistently give more then we get, in all areas,” shares Redjett co-founder Leigh Holt. “We are excited to live this out and present our first benefit concert supporting Musicians on Call. We fell in love with this organization a few years ago and I’m so grateful that our entire roster of artists, friends and partners have jumped on board to raise as much money as possible for the cause!”
“When we started our company two-and-a-half years ago, I don’t think I could have predicted that we would be working with this amazing group of people,” explains Redjett co-founder Kendra Flack. “Each one brings something special, and I love watching the impact that they are making in people’s lives. When we pitched the idea to do a night that gives back, they didn’t even hesitate. I am so honored and excited that we get to do this and I promise you it will be a night you won’t forget.”

It’s no secret that music can help you feel better. That’s why Musicians On Call brings music to the people who need it most – hospital patients. Musicians On Call brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. By delivering live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment or unable to leave their beds, we add a dose of joy to life in a healthcare facility. Since 1999, Musicians On Call volunteer musicians have performed for over 600,000 patients and their families.
Community members and music-lovers gathered at Carnton on Sunday evening for a night of summer fun. The Sunset Concert Series kicked off its 2018 season with music from FAB: A Beatles Tribute. Families and friends gathered on the east lawn next to Carnton for a Franklin summer evening, accompanied by beautiful weather and food offerings from Yayo’s O.M.G. Tacos, Puckett’s Trolley, Maggie Moos ice cream and Retro Sno food trucks. Specialty drinks were offered, including margaritas provided by Chuy’s and mint juleps. The Sunset Concert Series raises funds for the Battle of Franklin Trust, which operates Carter House and Carnton. Nashville’s largest Food and Drink Festival is celebrating 16 years at Public Square Park on June 16th, 2018!

Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury will host their annual Hammers & High Heels event on June 2nd at The Factory in Franklin.

Each year more than 10,000 women join construction teams nationwide during The National Women Build, raising their hammers to help build affordable housing in their own communities. In April, Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury will kick off its ninth annual Women Build. Funds raised from sponsors, individual donors, and the Hammers & High Heels event help raise the $70,000 for the cost of “bricks and sticks” to build the home, covering everything from the foundation to the kitchen sink.
More than 300 volunteers will come together during the seven-week build, putting in 2,400+ labor hours to make the dream of homeownership a reality for a single mother in need.
