An Acoustic Evening With Los Lonely Boys – The Franklin Theatre – Events in historic downtown Franklin.
“We decided to call this album Revelation because we want to make music that reveals something to people about their lives and their world,” says Jojo Garza. He’s talking about the new release by Los Lonely Boys, the close-knit Texas trio that the bassist/vocalist shares with his brothers Henry (vocals, guitar) and Ringo (drums, vocals). “As musicians and artists, we’re here to connect with people, and to share our view of things.”
Revelation – to be released on the band’s own LonelyTone imprint Jan. 21, 2014, in association with the respected Austin-based indie Playing in Traffic – is a landmark release for the siblings. While maintaining the infectiously melodic mix of bluesy rock ’n’ roll and rootsy brown-eyed soul that’s long endeared Los Lonely Boys to its fiercely loyal fan base, Revelation adds an expansive range of new sonic elements, e.g. the conjunto touches of “Blame It On Love,” the reggae groove of “Give A Little More,” the rustic acoustic textures of “It’s Just My Heart Talkin’ and the baroque pop elements of “There’s Always Tomorrow.”

An Acoustic Evening with Pam Tillis – The Franklin Theatre – Downtown Franklin, TN
Take a look at Pam Tillis’ mantel and it’s lined with three CMA awards, two Grammy awards, and a shiny new IBMA award. But look a little closer and you will see snapshots of Pam’s life, memories captured with family and friends. Pictures of Pam with Dolly Parton, Tony Bennett, Clive Davis and many others who Pam once may have idolized but now consider friends. “Those relationships nurture my music, says Pam. “They’re more important than any awards.”
Pam Tillis can tell you what it is like to win big awards, run a record label, sing on Broadway, and sell platinum records, but she’d much rather change the subject to the future. “I’ve traveled a million miles in my career,” says Tillis. “The next million don’t scare me a bit.”

Robin & Linda Williams – The Franklin Theatre – Downtown Franklin, TN
For more than four decades now, Robin & Linda Williams have made it their mission to perform the music that they love, “a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism.” Today some might call it “Americana,” but these two revered music masters were living and breathing this elixir 20 years before that label was turned into a genre label for record companies, media, festivals and venues.

The Franklin Theatre – Comedian James Gregory
For over two decades, the unforgettable caricature of veteran comedian James Gregory has stood grinning: his shirt untucked, his arms outstretched, a carefree welcome to a down-home, hilarious comedy experience. It’s storytelling at its best. The trademark caricature is the essence of James Gregory’s comedy: rib-tickling reflections on life from the front porch.
The James Gregory show turns the clock back to a time when life was simpler; to a better time, before the death of common sense; a time when people sat on the front porch and actually talked to each other without a cell phone in their ear. Gregory’s success, like his comedy, is the direct result of the values he grew up with. And now, twenty something years later, it is this unique brand of humor that packs the crowds into his sold-out shows. The absence of vulgarity sets James apart and his stories are carefully crafted art. “I have lived long enough to know people, know life,” Gregory reflects. “My comedy is based on my life experiences. It’s real, it’s funny and the audience loves it. That’s why I’m still in business.”
