May 4 — 21, 2017 – Show rated PG-13

Studio Tenn is pulling out all the stops to present a musical comedy of truly epic proportions for our 16/17 season finale. Monty Python’s Spamalot is a hilariously irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend, inspired by the 1975 cult classic movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” Marking their first performance together in a Studio Tenn musical, our own Matt Logan and Jake Speck will lead the cast of local and national all-stars. These ragtag Knights of the Round Table bring our exploration of perspectives full circle with a side-splitting reminder to “always look on the bright side of life.”

Crystal Bowersox – The Franklin Theatre

Crystal Bowersox has made it her mission to live life and her music to the fullest. With a gentle warmth and wisdom well beyond her years, the consummate artist has an uncompromising vision of herself and her music that is refreshing and rare.

Her rich amalgam of blues, country, folk and rock makes her one of the most dynamic young voices in music to come along in years. She has performed alongside everyone from Harry Connick Jr., Joe Cocker, and Alanis Morrisette, to Michael Franti, John Popper and BB King. All That For This, Crystal Bowersox’s sophomore release and Shanachie Entertainment debut, is a powerful testament to her talents as both a singer and songwriter, as well as her unerring musical vision. She confides, “I am more proud of this body of work then anything I’ve done before. If this music can move someone to tears or makes them smile, then I have really accomplished something. That’s all I can ask for.”

Franklin Mayor Ken Moore Asked to do a Cameo in Studio Tenn’s Production of Monty Python’s Spamalot

Franklin, TN- The cast and crew of Studio Tenn have requested Mayor Moore to do a cameo in their production of the musical comedy, Monty Python’s Spamalot. Maybe it was Moore’s Happy music video performance, or his Carpool Karaoke last year for his State of the City video, but Moore’s talent will prove valuable to the play. Mayor Moore will be in the Sunday, May 7 performance at 2 p.m.

“I am nervous and plan to sweat a little,” said Moore. “My last part in a play was in high school, but my experience singing and dancing for the city will help.  I have confidence the Studio Tenn Professionals will show me the way!  I hope to have a little fun and invite Franklin to come see the performance.”

Monty Python’s Spamalot is a hilariously irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend, inspired by the 1975 cult classic movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” The play is at the Factory from May 4-21, 2017. For tickets go to http://www.studiotenn.com/monty-pythons-spamalot/
