Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) is pleased to announce EMS Nite Lites 2017 at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. on Saturday, September 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This free event honoring our community’s first responders will feature police cars, ambulances, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. Bring the entire family out to honor those who serve our community. Kids can meet local law enforcement officers and climb aboard their vehicles for a close-up look. Participants include Vanderbilt Lifeflight, the Tennessee National Guard, Fairview Fire Department and Police Department, Williamson County Rescue, Williamson Medical Group, MJ Wrecker Services, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department. Sign the giant “thank you” banner to show your gratitude to our law enforcement and rescue community.
EMS Nite Lites 2017 will also feature free music, a bounce house, and crafts. Get a temporary henna tattoo from Tempy Tats (cost incurred), paint a rock with #615 Rocks!, or enjoy face painting at the Fairview Titans cheerleaders booth. The biggest backyard party with over 1,800 pounds of fresh catfish is set for Friday, July 21 2017 in the Grassland community of Franklin when Bethlehem United Methodist Church hosts the 43rd BUMC Fish Fry on the church’s shaded grounds.
With live music, all-you-can-eat farm-raised catfish and an incredible free children’s play area, the Bethlehem UMC Fish Fry is Friday, July 21 on the shaded grounds of the church off Old Hillsboro Road in the Grassland Area from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., 2419 Bethlehem Loop Road, Franklin (37069).
Tickets for adults are $10 in advance at the church and $13 the day of the event. Children 10 and under are always $6 and children under three are free! Hot dogs are available for children and a separate carryout serving area is provided.

4th of July Fireworks Show in Franklin, TN at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm
Thousands are expected to attend the popular Franklin on the Fourth Fireworks celebration on the square happening, July 4th in Franklin, TN and sponsored by the Franklin Lions Club. Franklin on the Fourth ends at 8 p.m. to give attendees time to get to the Fireworks Display at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm. The display, put on by the City of Franklin and its sponsors, will begin at approximately 9 p.m.
“Franklin on the Fourth” is coordinated by the Franklin Lions Club and TN Events in conjunction with the City of Franklin. All proceeds benefit the Franklin Lions Club Charities.
Williamson County Parks and Recreation – Pooch-a-Palooza Dog Show and Expo

Celebrate man’s best friend at the Pooch-a-Palooza dog show and expo. Looking for a pet sitter or vet? Get to know local businesses that care about your pets just as much as you do. Vendors include local vets, groomers, dog boarders, and pet supply shops. Adoptable dogs will also be on site from the Williamson County Animal Control with their mobile adoption center.
Think your dog is the best? Now is your chance to prove it, for only $10 register your k-9 friend for one or more of our competitions which include best dressed best trick, best agility course time and best retriever. All skill levels are welcome to compete in this friendly competition! The Williamson County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit will also hold a special demonstration you won’t want to miss! This event is FREE for spectators and their pets but registration is required to compete.
A fun, competitive race to raise Scholarship Funds for kids in need. The race includes 10 action-packed, timed recreational activities for age 5 and up. Teams of 2 to 6 persons (friends, family, co-workers) compete on the course of their choice — the Adventurers Course, perfect for families, OR the Wild Bucks Course, which is more challenging. Registration includes an event shirt. Trophies are given to the top teams on both courses.
The 2017 Leiper’s Fork Crawfish Boil – Franklin, TN
Bringing together the community to give 100% of monetary donations, ticket and silent auction proceeds to charity. Tickets can be pre-purchased on the website for $25, or they will be $30 at the door. Kids and Officers enter free.
