The third annual Kids Art Festival of Tennessee is brought to you by the City of Franklin Parks and the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission. The Kids Art Festival of Tennessee is calling all elementary, middle, and high school artists, dancers, musicians, vocalists, thespians, poets, photographers, and artisans to participate. This free festival is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10 AM – 3 PM in Pinkerton Park across the footbridge from Historic Downtown Franklin, TN.
The Festival will offer many opportunities for school-aged artists of Franklin, TN, and surrounding communities, including: A juried art exhibit, hand-crafted art for sale, stage performances, master classes, art stops to experience and create unique art, and more! Student art will be displayed throughout the event, judged, and winners presented cash awards, as well as the opportunity to exhibit in Franklin City Hall throughout the summer months. Participants will have the opportunity to develop new artistic skills and talents from professional artists through master classes.

Swim, Bike and Run your way to the finish at the 6th annual Half-Pint Triathlon on Saturday, May 20 at the Franklin Recreation Complex.

The All registration is by mail, and forms and event rules are available Williamson County Parks and Recreation Centers or on line at www.wcparksandrec.com — under Programs/Half Pint Triathlon.
Only the first 100 entrants will be accepted. The entry fee is $20 per child, payable with registration forms.
Athletes will be divided into two age groups:
Juniors, ages 8-9
Juniors will swim 50 meters in the pool, bike 1.5 miles and run 0.5 miles.
Seniors, ages 10-12
Senior entrants will swim 100 meters, bike three miles and run one mile.
- Each child will receive an official triathlon medal and t-shirt.
- Children must be accompanied by parents, and all racers are required to wear appropriate swim wear in the pool and shoes while biking and running.
- Each child should bring a bicycle and a helmet to the event.
- Packet pick-up is Friday, May 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex.
Race check-in begins Saturday, May 20 at 6:00 a.m. with a transition area meeting at 7:00 a.m. for racers and parents, followed by a race time of 7:30 a.m.

The Heritage Foundation’s Main Street Festival returns to downtown
Franklin, TN April 29-30, 2017!
The free spring celebration, which is one of the largest events in the state of Tennessee, is expected to draw a crowd of about 120,000 for a fun-filled weekend of music, arts and crafts, food, and children’s activities.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County and its division, the Downtown Franklin Association, and their missions, respectively: to protect and preserve the architectural, geographical and cultural heritage of Franklin and Williamson County, and to promote the ongoing economic revitalization of Downtown Franklin in the context of historic preservation.
Main Street Festival activities will run Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 30, 11 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Join us for an open casting call for the opportunity to have your dog photographed and featured in an upcoming Rover book—a series of 500-page, coffee table books that were made famous by Ellen DeGeneres back in 2009, and feature photos of dogs. Creator and photographer, Andrew Grant, will be on-site to judge the contestants. Three winners will be chosen, with additional dog features available via donation.
The casting call is part of an outdoor, family-fun, field festival event going on all afternoon. In addition to kids activities, guests will be able to enjoy food, beverages, live entertainment and raffle offerings, while dog-focused vendors including a bakery, groomer, veterinarian and pet illustrator will be on-site for the whole family to enjoy.
Proceeds from this open event will benefit Agape and the Williamson County Animal Center.

Come out to Owl’s Hill for a free hike! Join one of our staff members or volunteers on a guided hike through Owl’s Hill. This is a great opportunity for families, individuals, and small groups to come enjoy the trails of Owl’s Hill and get some exercise. The hike will be approximately two to three miles with some moderate hill climbs included. Hikes will start at 1:00.
