4th of July Celebration at Harlinsdale – TSC Arena sponsored by Jackson!

Join the Friends of Franklin Parks & City of Franklin Parks for a Fourth of July Celebration at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, TN! The City of Franklin Parks will be hosting a fireworks show, while the Friends of Franklin Parks will be hosting music, food and kids games in the Tractor Supply Co. Arena before the fireworks begin. Don’t miss Rubiks Groove perform in the TSC Arena at 7:00 p.m.! Park opens at 5:00 p.m.

The presenting sponsor of the TSC Arena activities is Jackson: Financial Freedom For Life. Stage Sponsors include Berry Farms, a Boyle Development, First Tennessee, 906 Studio Architects, Lipman and Puckett’s!!. Concessions from Lipman & Puckett’s will be available for purchase.

ESSENTRICS BARRE CLASS

Williamson County Enrichment Center

Williamson County Parks and Recreation is pleased to introduce Essentrics Barre, a dynamic, full-body workout that combines standing, floor, and barre exercises in one. Designed by Miranda Esmonde-White and featured on PBS’s Classical Stretch, this workout stretches and strengthens every muscle and joint in the body, leaving you relaxed and energized.

A six-week session of Essentrics Barre will be offered on Wednesdays, July 17 – August 28 (skip 7/31) from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave, Franklin, TN. Cost of the six-week session is $50 or $12 for a single class. Classes are recommended for adults 55+. Registration is online at www.wcparksandrec.com.  Registration code #15154.

Summer Session II Coed Sand Volleyball League

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

The Athletics Division of Williamson County Parks and Recreation is now registering teams for a Coed Sand Volleyball Summer Session II league playing at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road.

The Coed 4’s league will play on Thursday evenings beginning August 8 through September 19.

A maximum of 16 teams will be accepted. The season will be a round robin format, concluding with a single elimination tournament. Cost is $200 per team. Registration will continue through July 29 or until full at www.wcparksandrec.com. Registration code #14588.

Rescue Reunion Celebrates Pets

Free admission-bring your dog June 22

Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin presents a Rescue Reunion and Adoption Celebration on Saturday, June 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the shelter, 106 Claude Yates Dr. Bring your dog along (on a leash) and join the tail-waggin’ fun!  

Admission is free, and you can learn about pet behavior from featured speakers certified professional dog trainer Charlotte Blake, with Fresh Canine Training and Project Reward plus certified cat behaviorist and author Pam Johnson-Bennett. Vendors will be on hand with pet products and information, including The Farm at Natchez Trace, Animalia Health & Wellness, Mars Petcare US, Nashville Pet Products Franklin, My Second Home Pet Resort, Cat Shoppe, Invisible Fencing of Middle Tennessee, Doggie Doodles by Dina and 4 Paws Pastries!

For a small donation benefiting New Leash on Life, your dog will have an opportunity to run a special dog lure course. Dirty dogs can get spiffy at the dog wash, and have professional photos made by Penny Adams Photography on site. We will keep the humans happy with cold drinks and tasty homemade baked goods. 

Current adoption specials include two-for-one kittens $10, adult cats $10, dogs $50, puppies $85. 

The Williamson County Animal Center is located at 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Adoptable animals can be viewed at www.adoptwcac.org. Pet of the Week: Mitch (Pictured)

This seven-year-old coonhound will capture your heart with his soulful brown eyes! Mitch loves to explore on long walks or play in the yard. When the weather gets hot, he also enjoys a dip in the doggy pool! This big hearted boy needs a loving family to hang out with. YOUTH GOLF CLINIC AND CAMP

Registration is open for Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s for a Spring Golf Clinic for youth ages 5-12. The golf clinic will be taught by Jim Kite, a PGA Instructional Professional. A resident of Nolensville, Kite has taught at the Rick McCord Golf Academy in Orlando and the Apple Valley Country Club.

Online registration continues through Feb. 28 or until full. The clinic dates will be Friday, March 8, 15 and 29 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Indoor Arena at Crockett Park in Brentwood, TN. Participants should register for activity #13791 at www.wcparksandrec.com. The clinic fee is $75 (includes equipment). Registration will open April 1 for a Summer Golf Camp to be held June 3-7.

Love on the Lanes – Valentine’s Day at Kings Dining & Entertainment

Kings Dining & Entertainment is now taking reservations for Valentine’s Day for both small and large parties. Enjoy an extra special date night at Kings complete with their hand-crafted menu, bowling, games, and Karaoke. 
 
Kings Dining & Entertainment recommends starting the evening with dinner in The Draft Room. The menu is complete with an array of food and beverage options, which span from American favorites and comfort foods with a twist to healthy alternatives, all prepared from scratch daily. Most recent additions to the menu include: the Tuna Poke Bowl Salad, Creamy Tomato Bisque Fondue and Chocolate Cookie Fondue, fit to be the perfect Valentine’s Day dessert! The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) invites area seniors (55+) to participate in two upcoming outings at area attractions. The activities are open to the public.

Indoor Rock Climbing at The Ascent
Join us for a fun trip of rock climbing at The Ascent indoor rocking climbing gym in Murfreesboro on Wednesday, January 30. Interested, but unsure of your abilities? Discover what you can do on the rock wall where even the most inexperienced can reach new heights. Admission, climbing gear, and a belay lesson will be provided. The group will depart the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin, TN at 1:00 p.m. Cost is $23 per person (includes transportation, admission to climbing gym, and equipment rental). Extreme Escape Game

Join us on Friday, February 15 for a fun and challenging trip in Franklin.. Be entertained and mesmerized as the group works together to solve puzzles to finish the Escape game. The theme is “The Grand Illusion”, and it is sure to please. Come share the fun, laughter and help with the ESCAPE. The group will depart the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin, TN at 10:00 a.m. Cost is $54 per person.
